Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturer and logistics firm is seeking a Chief Financial Offer to join their growing team.
They've been expanding their local and national presence and are seeking a strategic and forward looking CFO to guide them through their next stage of growth.
You will be expected to become the finance business partner to the various departments with a primary focus on projections and identifying business / cost savings / profit opportunities throughout the organization.
The company has 5 business divisions but is small and nimble enough for someone to have a strong impact on their strategic direction.
A track record of serving as a business partner to business heads (not just a numbers cruncher!) is essential for the role.
Responsibilities
- Manage all financial operations within the organization including the leadership and management over the financial team.
- Work with the full gamut of business stakeholders to create budgets and projections as well as the identification of cost cutting and opportunities for efficiencies
- Work with senior management on short, medium and long term strategic and growth planning, serving as the senior voice related to financial matters.
- Work with relevant stakeholders including credit partners, vendors and customers on financial issues.
- Drive cross functional and company wide efficiency initiatives
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Puts in place necessary systems and procedures to ensure timely and correct invoicing, collection, and payment of suppliers.
- Establish and enforce procedures to improve working routines, provide high quality and valuable information and analysis to aid decision making, achieve efficiencies in terms of costs and ensure that all subjects relating to the financials of the terminal are dealt with in the most efficient manner.
- Build on and utilize technology to improve financial operations
- Work with sales team to develop pricing strategies that align with company goals
Requirements
- A strategic and business mindset (this can't be overstated). You aren't just a well developed accountant - you're a business executive with a deep and broad understanding of financials and financial operations.
- Strong business acumen with decision-making skills to lead and shape the company’s strategy
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience for a growth company or division of a large corporation that deals with physical goods.
- Deep working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
- Integrity and honesty. Conducts himself/herself with the highest ethical and moral standards.
